Many of you probably know that I'm a die-hard Cardinals fan. I'll root for the Cubs if they aren't playing the Cardinals, but I've been watching the Cardinals play since 1964, which was one heckuva season.
The Cardinals have had an infuriating season and not so long ago, they were clearly out of contention for any playoff spot, being 10.5 games out of the wild card and equally far behind the division-leading Brewers. It was a sad thing, especially given that Albert Pujols becomes a free agent at the end of the year and is by no means a sure bet to resign with the Cards.
As of tonight, the Cardinals are tied with the Braves for the wild card with one game left to go.
I am both surprised and happy.
Now, we need to make up one more game...
