Tom Skilling, our local weather forecaster on WGN-TV, is predicting that we'll get twenty-three inches of snow before everything wraps up on Wednesday. If he's correct, this is going to be one heck of a snowstorm.

In honor of this prediction, I went out this evening and bought groceries for the next few days. :)

I've got snowshoes, the Jeep has a full tank of gas, and I've got 20 gallons for the generator and snowblower. Bring it.

I have WGN America on my cable TV plan. And yes, I think I saw the same forecast. 2 feet of snow. Yeah, that's gonna cripple the city all right.

I hope that prediction proves over-dramatic...

The local stations are saying anywhere from 10 to 19 inches here in Grand Rapids. I went to the store yesterday and stocked up, too. My biggest worry is my mom -- if we lose power, I want to take her some place warm.

We lost power here in DC last week for nearly 24 hours; many of our friends lost it for over 48. I repeatedly cursed whoever, long before we bought it, switched our house from gas to electric heat.

But if you have a gas furnance, you still need electric to run it, right?

I love your icon. May I steal?

I may have to dig up WGN around 7:00 my time to watch the 9:00 news and see how bad it really is.

Days like this, I have no regrets about moving from Chicago to San Diego.

The Weather Channel says you may set a record with 24". NOAA, OTOH, is predicting much less. Only 20". ^_^
